The source told exporters that mass production of the component is expected to begin in the first quarter of next year. The process involves making a new assembly line that will place semiconductors on circuit boards.

A Foxconn spokesperson told Bloomberg that Foxconn is also developing data center infrastructure and "high-performance computing capabilities" for factories.

Sources told Bloomberg that Foxconn received the deal from Google because it is the only manufacturer capable of manufacturing surface mount production lines in the United States.

The Taiwanese conglomerate signed an agreement with Wisconsin in 2017. If it builds a $10 billion display manufacturing park with 13,000 employees, it will provide state and local governments with nearly $4 billion in tax incentives. .

But since then, Foxconn has reduced the size of the factory and failed to hire the proposed number of employees. Foxconn executives have teased to produce many different products in the factory, first large-scale displays, then smaller thin-film transistor liquid crystal displays, and then masks in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wisconsin state officials told Foxconn in mid-October that the company would not be eligible for billions of dollars in credit because officials said the company did not abide by the initial agreement, especially by employing 13,000 people. Foxconn appealed the decision.

The Mount Pleasant plant is still under construction.
