1W 0603 SMD 50Ω terminators work from DC to 67GHz

Smiths Interconnect has released a series of high frequency surface mount chip PCB line terminations.

These devices are called CTX SMT, based on thin film structure, work in the dc-67GHz range, and can handle up to 1W of power.

In a 50Ω system, the VSWR is usually 1.25:1 and 1.50:1 maximum, and can handle 10x pulses (1µs when the duty cycle is 1%).

In the temperature range of -55 to 100°C, the operation can provide up to 100% power, and linearly decrease to zero at 150°C-the maximum temperature coefficient is ±200ppm/°C.

The qualification test meets MIL-PRF-55342. The company said: "The results confirm that the CTX SMT design and RF performance are very suitable for supporting RF and microwave applications in the defense, space, aerospace and 5G broadband markets."
